President Murmu Attends Wardha Convocation

She said the soul of India finds expression through its languages and that a single stream of culture and consciousness flows through them.

The President appreciated the university’s diverse student body, including learners from the North-Eastern states, and said that inter-linguistic dialogue strengthens all Indian languages. She urged students to take pride in India’s heritage and focus on two national objectives — eradicating the remnants of the colonial mindset and reviving India’s tradition of knowledge.

Murmu said naming the university after Mahatma Gandhi is fitting, as Gandhiji viewed education as the foundation of self-reliance. She reminded students that meaningful education must serve the national interest and connect with the lives of ordinary citizens.
